Marian Movement
Widows are among the most vulnerable members of society, facing discrimination, poverty, loneliness, and isolation. The loss of income and support from their spouses makes it difficult for them to sustain themselves. The Marian Widow Movement provides a vital platform for widows in the MIDS operational area to come together, share their challenges, and support each other.

Key aspects of the Marian Movement :
Community Support
The movement offers a supportive community where widows can share their problems and issues
Cluster Level Meetings
Regular meetings are held to provide training on various subjects and to promote leadership skills among the widows. Information about government programs and development schemes for widows is also shared, enabling them to access these resources for their improvement.
Membership
The movement has enrolled 541 widows, providing them with a network of support and resources.
Economic Empowerment
Households headed by widows often experience higher rates of poverty. MIDS assists interested widows in starting income-generating activities by providing initial capital support
