CTWWC Project

CTWWC Project (Changing The Way We Care)

Changing The Way We Care (CTWWC) project, implemented by MIDS, focuses on the integrated development of vulnerable children across 16 Panchayaths in Kanyakumari District. The programme aims to create an equal opportunity for marginalized children in education and future development, with active support from Panchayath Raj Institutions, government departments, faith structures, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

Family Strengthening

The project prioritizes family strengthening during the initial phase, conducting awareness programmes to sensitize stakeholders about the crucial role of families in child development.

Community Engagement

Various events such as Global Parents Day celebration, folk dance competitions themed around Model Family, observance of National Nutrition Week, and International Day of the Girl Child are organized to engage the community and promote child rights and nutrition.

Vinnaithodu Programme

From October 2022, the Vinnaithodu programme focuses on family and faith-based structures, benefiting 297 vulnerable children from 16 Panchayaths. Awareness programmes on parental roles, family relationships, and drug abuse are conducted at parish and SHG levels.

Networking and Collaboration

Project staff regularly engage with beneficiary families and collaborate with government departments, organizations, and faith-based structures to leverage their services for the benefit of vulnerable children and their families.

Enduring Impact

The execution of the CTWWC project has brought about enduring changes among the target group and faith-based structures, contributing to the holistic development of vulnerable children and their communities.
