RESTORE
Many rural poor families dream of having a safe and comfortable home but often live in dilapidated or unfinished houses due to financial constraints. The RESTORE- House Maintenance Programme, supported by Mission Partners, Morley, Western Australia, helps these families make urgent repairs and improve their living conditions.

A safe and secure living environment can only be ensured when one's home is in good condition. Recognizing that many people’s homes were damaged and unsafe due to natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, and tsunamis, MIDS established the House Maintenance Programme in 2003. This initiative collaborates with various organizations to assist affected individuals in repairing their homes. Through this program, MIDS has been helping people restore their living conditions and providing a safe environment for them to live in. The programme continues to offer support and has been beneficial to many since its inception.
Through a careful selection process, MIDS identifies families in need and creates detailed maintenance plans with their involvement. Funds are disbursed in instalments as the work progresses, and beneficiaries are also assisted in obtaining additional credit from their Self-Help Groups.
Impact
The RESTORE Programme has supported 365 families in making essential house repairs, helping them achieve better living conditions and a happier life.
