Farmers Club

Farmers Club

The Farmers Club program focuses on ecological conservation through sustainable agriculture practices to protect the environment, conserve soil resources, and enhance natural resources. It aims to promote organic farming methods and support the agricultural community for long-term environmental and economic benefits.

MIDS’s Initiatives

Since 2018, MIDS has been working to improve the welfare of farmers by establishing and organizing Farmers Clubs in the target areas. By 2019, we began forming small groups of farmers to facilitate better coordination and support. Currently, 60 active Farmers Clubs are operational, providing financial assistance and fostering agricultural development.

These clubs serve as platforms for farmers to transition from traditional practices to more sustainable agricultural methods. They offer training and resources on topics such as organic farming, soil conservation, and vermicomposting. A model vermicomposting unit has been set up at the MIDS office, and educational materials are created to raise awareness and promote best practices.

Impact

Through the Farmers Club initiative, MIDS promotes eco-friendly agricultural practices, enhances soil health, and supports farmers with training, resources, and financial aid. This program aims to foster a sustainable agricultural community and ensure local food security while advancing environmental conservation efforts.
