CEI Migrants Project
Migration and internal displacement are critical issues driven by factors like lack of local employment and the search for better living conditions. MIDS, through the TASOSS-CEI Migrants Project, addresses these challenges by implementing targeted programs to support migrants in Arumanai and Muzhukodu Panchayath.

Volunteer Engagement and Data Collection
MIDS selected and trained ten volunteers who conducted extensive migrant surveys in the project areas, gathering essential data to understand the needs and conditions of migrants, leading to informed interventions.
Migrant Facilitation Centres
Established at Thachoorkonam and Mugavoor, these centres provide a central point for assistance, improving outreach and support for migrants, ensuring effective coordination and resource provision.
Formation of Vulnerable Groups
Two vulnerable groups were created to foster socio-economic development among migrants, offering a support network and collective voice for their concerns, enhancing community support structures.
Skill Development
Identified unskilled youth in the target areas were provided with employable skills training, increasing their chances of finding local employment and reducing the necessity to migrate.
Capacity Building for Panchayath Raj Institutions
Training sessions were organized to raise awareness about migrant issues, ensuring the cooperation of local institutions in reducing migration instances and fostering a supportive environment.
