Cancer Screening Camps

Cancer Screening Camps

MIDS collaborates with Sree Ram Cancer Centre, Nagercoil, to conduct monthly cancer screening in its operational area. Women aged 18 to 60 are screened and suspicious cases are referred to the hospital for further examination and follow-up

Key Initiatives

Monthly Screening Camps

Regular camps are held to screen women for cancer, ensuring early detection and timely referral for treatment.

Identification and Referral

Several patients have been identified and referred for treatment, significantly improving their chances of curing cancer.

Education and Awareness

During the camps, people are educated about cancer causes, early detection methods, symptoms, and prevention measures.

BSE Training

Women are taught Breast Self-Examination (BSE) techniques to help identify any abnormalities early.

Impact

The cancer screening camps have played a crucial role in early cancer detection, leading to better treatment outcomes. By educating the community and training women in self-examination, MIDS has empowered individuals to take proactive steps in maintaining their health. These efforts have not only raised awareness but also provided essential support to those affected by cancer, ensuring they receive the necessary medical attention.
